What is Urban Mycelium?
Urban Mycelium is an artistic practice that explores the hidden connections between cities, nature and society.
Inspired by the structure and behaviour of fungal mycelium, it translates ecological principles into murals, installations, sculptures, objects and public interventions. Rather than using mushrooms as decoration or illustration, Urban Mycelium understands mycelium as a model for communication, resilience, transformation and collaboration.
Rooted in decades of graffiti and stylewriting, the practice combines the visual language of the urban underground with the intelligence of natural systems. It creates artworks that not only transform spaces but invite people to rethink the relationships between architecture, ecology and community.
