Wuppertal, Germany · 2023
Mushroom House — Königshöhe transforms a small residential building on the wooded slopes of Wuppertal into a large-scale exploration of fungal forms, architecture and landscape.
Painted across multiple sides of the building, oversized mushrooms interact with windows, rooflines and the slate façade, turning the existing architecture into part of the composition. Seen from different paths and viewpoints, individual fungal forms connect around the building and emerge from its surrounding vegetation.
Created in 2023, the work marks an early stage in the development of Fungi Fresh and the ideas that would later evolve into Urban Mycelium — an artistic practice exploring connections between fungi, urban environments, culture and ecological systems.
